Dingo Seat Covers takes out an award
I would firstly like to thank Weipa for its support of our business over the last several years, especially Comalco, Opposite Lock in Cairns and Q Birt. We have recently returned from a sales trip to Brisbane where we had a stand at Landcruiser Mountain Parks Expo. From this we have increased our sales significantly and finally been able to place more orders for our factory in Brisbane. We would have liked to keep manufacturing in Weipa but transporting in materials, and then sending out the seat covers, just did not make good economical sense. While at the expo, Tim entered our Toyota into the “Show and Shine Best Touring 4×4” category as he figured this would give Dingo Seat Covers more exposure. What came as a complete surprise is our chopped wagon took out first prize against around 50 very impressive wagons. The judges commented that apart from being the only car with a kitchen in the back, it was a good margin in front due to the Waeco fridge neatly shoe horned into the front centre console that can chill 6 bottles of wine. Further to our surprise TJM approached Tim to come and sell our seat covers on their stand at the National 4×4 show in Brisbane in June, free of charge. We would very much like to pass on the thanks from Landcruiser Mountain Park to the Weipa Camp ground, Archer River road house Hann River road house and the coffee shop at Lakeland Downs for their contributions to the charity auction held on the expo weekend.
